Dana Airline is processing refunds for customers who booked flights for the next month.
In a statement on Wednesday, the management pleaded with the affected customers for patience and urged them to provide their booking details and bank account numbers.
This is coming hours after the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, in a letter to the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Chris Najomo, through the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, ordered the airline’s immediate suspension and an audit of its safety and financial health.
The disciplinary action came after Dana Airline's Flight 9J0352, with registration number 5N BKI, skidded off the runway at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, leading to a diversion of other flights from the local to the international airport. As a result, the airline's operations were suspended.
In response, Dana Airline expressed regret over the disruption and thanked its customers for their patience. The airline announced that it is processing refunds for all affected flights within the next month and requested passengers to send their booking details (PNR) and bank account numbers to contact@flydanaair.com for quicker processing.
The management assured that it is cooperating with authorities to address concerns and working on resolving the issue swiftly. They stated that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure safe and seamless travel once they resume operations.
