For an £83 million youngster, the club is willing to pay £49.8 million since Manchester United wants to sign him.

Many players from his old club, Sporting CP, were expected to be connected to a move to Manchester United when Ruben Amorim was hired as manager, and this is turning out to be the case.

This was mostly because Sporting CP boasts one of the most promising young teams in Europe, and Erik ten Hag had done this consistently while managing the Red Devils, getting used the supporters to it.

Although all the clamor has been around Viktor Gyokeres so far, Man Utd are interested in signing teenage starlet, Geovany Quenda from the Lions.

Quenda featured extensively for Amorim during their time at Sporting and understand exactly what it takes to play in the wing-back role in the Portuguese tactician’s 3-4-3 system. Despite being a left-footed player, he has often been used on either flank.

The 17-year-old has a contract with the Portuguese club until 2027 and is said to have a release clause of around £83m (100 million euros).

However, A Bola adds that Sporting CP are willing to negotiate and part ways with him for a fee of £49.8m (60 million euros).

One of the most talented young players coming through Portugal, Quenda is tipped to reach great heights in his career. However, one wonders if Man Utd can afford to spend this kind of money on a teenager.

One positive here is that if Amorim wants Quenda at Man Utd, he will know exactly how to get the best out of the player.
