Pakistan deports over 670 Afghan migrants in one day

Pakistan deported at least 670 Afghan migrants on Sunday, April 21, as part of its ongoing effort to expel undocumented immigrants, according to the Taliban-run Refugee Ministry.

The ministry noted that among those deported were 125 families, with 389 crossing into Afghanistan via Spin Boldak and 281 through the Torkham crossing.

Since October 2023, Pakistan has deported more than 600,000 undocumented Afghan migrants.

Pakistan has announced plans to initiate a new phase of deportations that will affect even documented Afghan migrants.
