During his appearance on the "What Now? with Trevor Noah" podcast on Thursday, actor Orlando Bloom talked about his new documentary series, "Orlando Bloom: To the Edge." He also discussed his personal life, focusing on his relationship with his partner, Katy Perry.
Noah mentioned that Bloom and Perry seemed to lead a "normal" life despite their celebrity status. Bloom explained that what drew him to Perry was her authenticity, recalling that her music was everywhere, but he fell in love with "Katheryn," a girl from Santa Barbara.
Bloom highlighted Perry's humble background, mentioning that her parents were pastors living on food stamps, emphasizing that her upbringing wasn't glamorous. Despite this, they share a bond that drives them both to grow and evolve.
The couple began dating in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020. Bloom admitted that balancing their busy careers and personal lives can be challenging, but he wouldn't trade their relationship for anything. He noted that they always find a way to reconnect, adding, "I just keep coming back to her and trying to hold her hand and walk her back to the sand pit and be like, we’re just going to build a sandcastle."
Despite the high demands of their respective careers, Bloom described their relationship as filled with both fireworks and fun, noting that the growth they inspire in each other is worth all the effort.
