Tottenham faces a setback as Destiny Udogie's season has ended abruptly due to a left thigh injury that required surgery.
The talented full-back, who made a notable impact in his debut Premier League season with 30 appearances across all competitions, will not play again for Spurs this term. Known for his dynamic runs into midfield under manager Ange Postecoglou, Udogie shared the unfortunate news on Saturday night.
On Sunday morning, Tottenham released an official statement confirming that Udogie underwent surgery for a thigh injury. The statement, posted on the club's website, stated: "We can confirm that Destiny Udogie has undergone surgery on his left quadriceps after sustaining an injury during training earlier this week.
“The defender will continue his rehabilitation with our medical staff and is expected to rejoin the squad during pre-season.” Udogie had previously announced on Instagram that his season had come to an end.
The plans of the heart are in our hands, but the final answer comes from the Lord," he wrote. "Although this injury has cut my season short, it doesn't diminish my gratitude for everyone who has supported me throughout this year.
