Galatasaray is reportedly considering a move for Casemiro from Manchester United after Sergio Oliveira underwent medical tests with Olympiacos.
Casemiro, who joined United from Real Madrid in August 2022, has seen a significant decline in form since his debut season. The midfielder was substituted at halftime during United's recent 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, where his performance contributed to two of the goals conceded.
With the Turkish transfer window closing on Friday, September 13, Galatasaray is looking to strengthen its midfield. The club has already made notable acquisitions this summer, including Victor Osimhen on loan from Napoli, and has also signed Gabriel Sara, Elias Jelert, Ismail Jakobs, Hakim Ziyech, and Michy Batshuayi.
Galatasaray has also seen several players leave, such as Tete, Wilfried Zaha, and Nicolo Zaniolo. The potential departure of Oliveira, who has not played this season and is set to join Olympiacos, could create space for Casemiro.
Additionally, Casemiro’s playing time at United may be affected by the recent arrival of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain. Ugarte, who was not registered in time for the Liverpool match, is expected to make his debut after the international break. United manager Erik ten Hag has acknowledged that integrating Ugarte into the team will take time.
