Bayern Munich is planning a £60 million bid for a Crystal Palace young star player.

Adam Wharton, a midfielder for Crystal Palace, is apparently a target for Bayern Munich this summer.

The 20-year-old completed his £22.5 million deal from Blackburn Rovers in January, and since then, he has rapidly established himself as an Eagles first team star.

Wharton was only in the Blackburn first team for eighteen months before joining Palace in the Premier League. In his fifteen games in the top level, he has started fourteen of them and provided three assists.

Wharton, a deep-lying playmaker, has won numerous accolades for his efforts at Palace since the start of the season, including player of the match honors in a thrilling 1-0 triumph over Liverpool last month.

Wharton is currently being watched by one of Europe's major clubs ahead of the summer transfer window after emerging as a dark horse to make Gareth Southgate's 26-man England squad for Euro 2024.

Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich is'ready' to make a summer move for Wharton and 'desperate' to entice him to the Allianz Arena after losing out on signing him in January, according to The Sun.

The Bavarians and Chelsea reportedly attempted to sign the young player in the past, but Palace—who could provide first-team football right away—beat them in the end.

Wharton joined Palace with a long-term deal that is set to expire in June 2029, and the Eagles have no intention of losing their standout midfield player anytime soon.

But a bid of about £60 million from Bayern is rumored to have the potential to entice Palace this summer.

The 49-year-old manager of Palace, Oliver Glasner, has also been connected to Bayern, but a source indicates that he will not undertake negotiations with the German team and will stay at Selhurst Park.

Just under two months after Wharton relocated to Selhurst Park, Glasner was named manager of Palace in mid-February. The Austrian manager has been thrilled with how fast the young player has adapted to life in the top division and has hinted that he may receive an England call-up this summer.

Glasner told Palace's official website, "Adam does really well, otherwise he wouldn't play almost every minute." "He starts every game because he consistently puts up excellent performances, and we really value the passing, problem-solving, and hard work he does in center midfield with Will Hughes.

England manager, Gareth Southgate doesn't need any guidance from me since he was at Selhurst watching the match against Man Utd. The top players will be his choices for England.

Adam performs incredibly well, and my teammates and I wish him the best. It would be an amazing accomplishment if he were nominated for England, but he is still a young player and will likely play for many countries before that happens. The final say in the matter belongs to Gareth Southgate.

Wharton is not the only Palace player who has been connected to a summer departure; Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, two of the team's attacking options, have drawn interest from several elite Premier League clubs. Olise, in particular, has most recently been linked to Manchester United, Arsenal, and Aston Villa.
